One of my favorite bands from the Garage Rock revival from the late 80's and early 90's is the Makers! They just have a raw, primal sound to their music. They're more punk than any of the nancy boy emo bands and more rock than a lot of the cookie cutter bands that followed in the wake of The White Stripes (no dis to The White Stripes). Imagine how the nineties would've been had the media moguls paid attention to the Seattle garage scene than to bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana. We could've been rocking raucous retreads instead of victims of 90's complaint rock!
In my opinion, "Hunger" was their last great album. I'm not as big of a fan of the direction they started going in when they put out "Psychopathia Sexualis".
Check out "Four Button Suit" from my favorite Makers album "All Night Riot"!
Here's "Don't Cross Your Man" from "The Devil's Nine Questions"
Here's a great performance of The Makers' "I Just Might Crack" with April March on vocals!
